If you have a vehicle that is damaged or smashed and is beyond repairs and can’t be saved then you can make money by selling your vehicle to an auto wrecker. Indeed, auto wreckers can be your right destination to sell your vehicle that has met with an accident or is totally wrecked, and make some respectable money. In addition, if you have a very old car that you do not use any longer then you can sell it to auto wreckers and make some quick cash. Well, there is a secret behind successfully selling your car to an auto wrecker and here is what you need to know:
EVALUATE YOUR VEHICLE’S VALUE BEFORE SELLING IT
When selling vehicles to auto wreckers, the most common blunder people make is that they don’t evaluate their vehicles to know what its true value is. Well, even if the vehicle may not be up and working, any parts that are in good condition and working properly will be of value to the auto wreckers.
Thus, to get an approximate figure of what your car can fetch, it is recommended to have your car valued by an expert auto mechanic. Moreover, equip yourself with all important details relevant to the car. This should contain essential information as to what made the vehicle defective, damages it is has acquired overtime etc.
In order to complete vehicle valuation fittingly, auto wreckers may ask several questions. Keep in mind that to get a favourable price for your car, you should be able to answer auto wrecker’s questions in a fitting way.
MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS IN YOUR NAME
Prior to selling your vehicle to an auto wrecker, it is imperative to ascertain your ownership. Most of the auto wreckers will have policies in place to shield themselves from purchasing stolen/ theft vehicles. If you can’t establish or prove that the vehicle belongs to you legally then there is a particular policy in place that doesn’t permit them to purchase your vehicle. That’s why it is highly recommended to make sure that the vehicle is legally registered under your name and that you have the essential records to prove the ownership. This will ensure you’ll have a smooth sale process.
DELIVERING YOUR USED VEHICLE TO THE AUTO WRECKER
If you have already discussed with the auto wrecker, ensure to make proper arrangements to deliver your old car to the auto wrecker. An auto wrecker could charge you for towing your vehicle and deduct this cost from your vehicle’s final value if you have chosen the auto wrecker to tow your vehicle. When you choose to deliver your vehicle to them yourself, it will save their time and resources. In addition, it guarantees you receive the initial agreed amount for your vehicle’s sale, as is, without any compromise whatsoever.

Many people aren’t sure what the advantage is of owning a diesel powered car and some don’t buy a car just because they are diesel. The Ford Ranger Diesel is one of the most economical engines in its class and has excellent fuel economy, especially out on the open road. The diesel powered engine in the Ranger offers plenty of power, with the help from the turbo while still being economical. Diesel powered engines also give a lot of torque, which is perfect for towing. The Ranger Diesel has over 3 tonne of towing power and can pull it with ease, thanks to how much torque the diesel engine provides. With all the new technology in the modern day diesel engine that is offered in the Ford Ranger, everything burns cleaner and the engine blows far less soot then expected from a Diesel. Important things to keep your engine going in your Ranger is regular servicing of the engine and maintaining the cooling system in it too. But it is important to know what you’re doing, especially with the later model PX Ford Rangers as you can cause serious issues with the engine if you do not correctly fill the oil back up immediately as if it drains completely it causes an air lock in the oil pump and it will not pump oil through your engine upon start up and will cause engine failure. If you are unsure with what you’re doing with servicing your diesel Ranger, take it to your local Ford dealership, or bring it past here at FordPro Wreckers for a service. It is also important to keep an eye on your turbo feed lines so that they do not block up as that will starve your turbo of oil and cause it to fail and wear the bearing out.
Keeping your Automatic or Manual gearbox is very important too in your Ranger. Your transmission requires servicing and maintenance about every 50,000km. But it is important to make sure that you use the correct oil that Ford recommends to keep the transmission running smoothly. If you do not use the correct oil your gearbox may fail all together. They run a special grade oil in the gearboxes so you have to keep this oil in them as they will not run without that specific oil in them.
So if you are looking for power, fuel economy towing capability and reliability, buy yourself a Diesel Ford Ranger and you wont be disappointed. Ford all your Ford Ranger parts give us a call on 02 9757 1811
Changing the oil on your car is a very important part of maintaining your Ford. Regular oil changes will help your Ford drive better and last for longer. Changing the oil is simple and is done in a few easy steps.
- Jack the front of your car up or put it on a hoist. On the bottom of your engine, which is known as the oil sump you will see a hexagonal shaped plug, known as the sump plug. After placing an oil catch pan under the sump, undo the sump plug and let all of the used oil drain out
- Once the oil has completely drained out, you will need to remove your oil filter, which is located on the side of the engine. You will need a filter removing tool to do so. Once the filter is removed, drain the oil out of the filter and dispose of the oil and used filter properly.
- Before fitting your new oil filter, remove the plastic film over the part of the filter that screws on, and lubricate the rubber seal on the filter with some engine oil.
- Screw the oil filter on and do it up tight by hand, ensuring that you do not over tighten the filter as it can do damage to the filter or housing.
- Put the plug back into your sump and make sure it is done up tight. Make sure you do not cross thread the sump plug, and do not over tighten it. Some sump plugs have a small gasket that goes on them, if so it is a good idea to replace that too.
- Now that your filter and sump plug are on you can now fill the engine up with oil from the oil filler cap.
- Do not put all of your oil straight in. You need to add the oil bit by bit and continue to check it on the oil dipstick. Remember the oil takes time to drain from the top of the motor to the sump, so give it a little time in between pouring it in before checking.
- Once the oil is filled to the correct level on the dip stick, its then safe to put the oil cap back on and start the vehicle. Let the car run for a small amount of time to get all of the oil pumping through the engine.
- Switch the engine off and then pull the dipstick out, and check it again. The oil level may have dropped as the oil has now been pumped through the motor and filled the filter up. If needed removed the oil cap, top up the oil and replace the cap.
- Now it is sake to lower the car off the jack and you have finished the job!
